How to Create and Share Checkout Links

Imagine being able to sell something with just a link. No website to build, no shopping cart to configure, no checkout flow to design. You create a link, share it, and your customer pays. That's exactly what Ponkan checkout links do.

A checkout link is a URL that takes your customer to a hosted payment page. When they visit the link, they see what you're selling, enter their payment details, and complete the purchase. An order is created, you get paid, and the customer gets a confirmation — all automatically.

You can share checkout links anywhere:

  • In an email to a client
  • On social media (Instagram bio, Twitter, Facebook)
  • In messaging apps like Viber, WhatsApp, or Messenger
  • As a QR code printed on a flyer or business card
  • As a "Buy Now" button embedded on your website

Here's how to create a checkout link from your Ponkan dashboard:

  1. Go to Checkout Links in the sidebar
  2. Click Create Link
  3. Give your link a name (this is for your reference — customers won't see it)
  4. Select the products you want to include
  5. Click Create

Your checkout link is ready. Copy the URL and share it wherever your customers are.

Bundling multiple products

Checkout links aren't limited to a single product. You can bundle several products into one link, and customers will see all of them on the payment page.

This is perfect for:

  • Product bundles — "Starter Kit" with three related items
  • Service packages — "Full Branding Package" that includes logo, business card, and social media templates
  • Event registrations — Conference ticket + workshop add-on

Just select multiple products when creating your checkout link, and they'll all appear together.

Custom URLs

By default, Ponkan generates a random URL for your checkout link. But you can set a custom slug to make it more memorable:

Instead of ponkan.app/checkout/x7k9m2p4, you could have ponkan.app/checkout/summer-sale — much easier to share and remember.

Expiration dates

Running a limited-time offer? You can set your checkout link to expire on a specific date. After that date, the page will no longer accept purchases. This is great for:

  • Flash sales
  • Early-bird pricing
  • Seasonal promotions
  • Limited-edition drops

Discount codes

Want to offer a promotion? Create a discount code in your dashboard and your customers can apply it at checkout. You control the discount amount (percentage or fixed), how many times it can be used, and when it expires.

Tracking your results

Every checkout link comes with its own analytics, so you can see:

  • How many people visited the checkout page
  • How many completed a purchase
  • Total revenue generated from that link
  • Conversion rate — the percentage of visitors who bought

This helps you understand which channels drive the most sales. If your Instagram link converts at 8% but your email link converts at 25%, you know where to focus your marketing efforts.

Real-world examples

Here are some ways real businesses use Ponkan checkout links:

  • A freelance designer shares a link in her Instagram bio for booking consultations
  • A bakery prints QR codes on table tents so customers can order from their phone
  • A course creator drops a checkout link in his YouTube video descriptions
  • A nonprofit shares donation links in email newsletters
  • A photographer sends personalized links to clients for booking sessions
  1. Keep your product descriptions clear — Customers should know exactly what they're buying at a glance
  2. Use custom slugs for marketingponkan.app/checkout/holiday-bundle is more shareable than a random string
  3. Set up multiple links for different channels — Create separate links for email, social media, and in-person sales so you can track where revenue comes from
  4. Combine with discount codes — A checkout link paired with a limited-time discount code is a powerful sales tool
